Discussion on the Planning and Design of Taxi Service Center: A Case Study of Jiangning District, Nanjing City

摘要

With the continuous expansion of the taxi industry, the construction of relevant service facilities has aroused wide concern in many Chinese cities. After nearly ten years of practice in several cities, some valuable experience in planning and design of taxi service center has been made. By investigating some existing service centers, this paper analyses the grading system of taxi service centers from the perspective of functions. Then several design alternatives combined with bus stations, gas stations and other service facilities for alleviating land and financial pressure are proposed. Finally, the Jiangning District of Nanjing City is chosen as a case study.
