Modelling of large-scale grid-connected photovoltaic systems (GCPSs) is needed for different time frameworks to assess different aspects of both component and system performance. The paper presents extended models of large-scale GCPSs with DigSILENT PowerFactory for static grid support using reactive power control. Grid codes are taken into account to develop the proposed models which are able to control the system's reactive power (Q) support under fixed Q, fixed power factor (cosϕ), cosϕ dependent of active power (cosϕ(P)) and droop control Q(U). Selected results of a simulation block for a 10 MVA of PV generation demonstrates the effectiveness of the modified models.
