摘要

Capsule technology presents an unique system for packaging, storage, delivery of bioactive molecules and modeling/mimicking biological functions. The development of multifunctional cages with designed surfaces for use as carrier systems in vitro and in vivo with remote stimuli controlled activation will have a strong impact in many areas. For instance in biomaterials and tissue engineering, carrier systems are of interest because of the possibility of the site specific release of drugs in order to support healing and integration. The developed multifunctional capsules may be regarded to some extent as a generic technological tool - there are numerous technological applications where such capsules could be utilized.
