The multi-functional compsoites based on chitosan and myocardial infarction (MI) speific-peptide were successluly prepared. The chitosan-peptide composites have multi-functions, such as, antioxidant, anti-apoptotic, improve vascularization level etc. Chitosan-peptide is a promising tool for adjusting the micro-enviroment of myocardial infarction and enhancing cardiomyocyte viability and maintaining the phenotype during tissue engineering and after in vivo implantation.
