Grid shell is a new type of single layer latticed shell suitable for lighting roofs. Joints of this structrue always adopt semi-rigid: in-plane pin, outplane rigid joints. A parametric modeling method considering semi-rigid joints using self-designed program is proposed in this paper. Bearing capacity of the elliptic paraboloid grid shell is analyzed. The influence of steel pipe section, cables' section, prestress of cables, rise-span ratio and initial imperfection on the bearing capacity is investigated. The results show that: the bearing capacity of the structrue with semi-rigid joints reduces 10% compared with the structrue with rigid joints, the influence of semi-rigid joints on the bearing capacity is not significant; the influence of rise-span ratio, steel pipe section, cables' section, initial imperfection on the bearing capacity of grid shell with semi-rigid joints are the same as that with rigid joints; prestress of cables on the bearing capacity is not significant; grid shell is very sensitive to the initial imperfection.
