This study is a part of a large project on semi-rigid connections between plates or I-beams and RHS columns in which various geometries and load combinations are being investigated. In this paper, the results of a parameter study on connections between I-section beams and rectangular hollow section columns, with prestress in the columns, loaded by in-plane bending moments on the beams are presented. Twelve connections have been investigated. Eight pre-loading ratios in the columns have been considered for each connection. These pre-loading ratios are n + +- 0.2, +-0.4, +-0.6 and +-0.8. (n = N_0/N_(p,pl,) N_0 is the pre-loading applied at the top of the column, N_(p,pl) is the full plastic resistance of the column).
