Timing acquisition (STBC) is one of the main challenges in the field of the ultra-wideband communication. "Dirty template" (timing with a dirty template, TDT) timing acquisition algorithm is perfectly suitable for ultra wideband (UWB) technology. In the mode of data auxiliary (DA), it has the characteristics of low complexity and the rapid acquisition. But, in auxiliary (NDA) mode with no data, the performance depends on the random signal interference by the system. Therefore, this paper analyzes the possibility of solving the problem by the orthogonal Hermite pulse method. The calculation uses a string of alternate orthogonal Hermite pulse to send the signal, and modifies original TDT algorithm to realize the synchronization. This method doesn't require the training sequence, Our approach shows a good performance in NDA mode. Consequently, the algorithm performs better compared to the original TDT in terms of the mean square error (MSE).
