This paper presents a portable industrial vacuum cleaner that is run by a low-voltage (LV) 3-Phase induction motor (IM) by using 48V DC. In LV mode, the battery storage system easy to use to make the system portable and grid-independent. For simple structure, availability, longevity, and higher starting torque, $3- Phi$ IM was chosen. But to run in LV, the stator coil should be modified according to the DC/AC inverter output voltage. To provide the required RPM of the induction motor for proper suction, a VFD integrated inverter was developed. This paper aims to provide quantitative evidence in determining that the system containing a VFD performs with greater efficiency when it operates at lower than rated voltages. Two means are utilized in fulfilling the purpose of the study. First a single-phase induction motor was rewinding to a low voltage 3-Phase induction motor. Secondly, an inverter development to run in the system in the LV range. After the construction of the vacuum cleaner, actual tests and performance analysis was carried out and showed in this paper.
