摘要

Based on the value chain theory and innovation system theory,this paper uses a panel dataset from 1995 to 2009 to investigate how endogenous innovation capability,environment for innovation and transnational capital technology spillovers affect the upgrading of high-tech industry in the Yangtze River Delta.The results indicate that endogenous innovation capability and environment for innovation play decisive roles in local industrial chain upgrading,while technology spillover of capital remains the dominant factor.Thus,the high-tech industry in the Yangtze River Delta should spare no effort to enhance independent innovation and learn by exporting,eventually build a platform through which knowledge can be absorbed,acquired and transferred between local firms and MNCs as well as among firms of different segments within the chain.
