Maintenance of curves takes up a dominant part in the maintenance of railway tracks.The deterioration of curve direction caused by the repeated changes of CWR curve position under the impact of train operation has become one of the major defects of curves.This paper proposes a method to fix curves in position with anchor piles on the basis of site investigations and tests on Jing-Guang and Long-Hal railway lines.Such method is applied by embedding foundation piles along the two sides of the track and fixing connection rods between the head of foundation piles and rail bottom to stabilize curve position, keep curve in position by force.The site tests and practical application on the tracks of Xinxiang Maintenance Division of Zhengzhou Railway Bureau have shown that the anchor piles are effective to maintain curve position within the first three years, but the subsequent off-position of curves still exists.Site investigations and analysis suggest that change of curve position is the fact that the extension of rails corresponding to the rolling wheels is accumulated and shifted to curves.The author also puts forward the limit conditions and procedures to apply "anchor piling".The study results are expected to guide the maintenance and repairing of curves.
