Water is life. All known forms of life depend on water. There is a clear co-relation between accesses to safe water to GDP per capita. A recent report of Nov'2009 suggests that by 2030, some developing region of the world, water demand will exceed supply by 50%. (Ref: Charting our water future: Economic frame work to inform decision making, Wikipedia) Water plays a very important role in world economy as it functions as a solvent for wide range of chemical substances and facilitates industrial activity including transportation.
