SELECTING AN ALTERATIVE FUEL VEHICLE USING DATA ENVELOPMENT ANALYSIS

In this paper, we use extensions of Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) to rank the relative performance of sustainable vehicles, using three different methods. In addition to conventional criteria such as price, power, capacity, maintenance, etc., we have included eco-efficiency as a criterion for sustainable vehicle selection. The three ranking approaches employed in this study enhance the reliability of the decision outcome. In addition, these approaches identify the most desirable vehicle without taking into consideration the importance of the various criteria. These methods are solely based on data and do not require expert opinions for sustainable vehicle selection.
