WHETHER AND HOW TO PURSUE INNOVATION: EXAMINING THE INFLUENCE OF MICRO AND MACRO FACTORS

A scenario driven approach is employed to examine the effects of individual and situational variables on managerial choices regarding development of innovations. Results indicate that transformational leadership and dispositional trust (micro) and uncertainty regarding the innovation (macro) all play a significant role in the choice of whether and/or how to pursue an innovation, and that there is an interaction across the levels.
