The policy of "Public Transport Priority" is a principal strategy for urban traffic development. Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) is an crucial part of city public transport. More and more cities have built and operated BRT in the world, and many cities in China have planned and built it recently. The Platform Screen Doors (PSDs) system is an important component at BRT stations, and it not only screens platform from bus lane to offer a safe and comfortable environment for passengers, but also can offer bus position information to Bus Fleet Management System (BFMS) which manage operating bus fleet. Compared with the traditional BFMS based on GPS (Global Position System), this system locates bus position of arrival/departure at station platform based on signpost technology which is similar to the Platform Screen Doors (PSDs) system. Only when the bus stops at depot within a permissible error distance, the driver can open/close PSDs using onboard transmitter to send out a signal which is received by the Platform receivers mounted at Platform edge. Using location technology of PSDs, the system of BFMS for BRT can offer bus fleet management including basic information assembly, bus real-time monitor, bus operating etc. It is applied in China's cities such as Jinan and Zhengzhou etc, and the system of BFMS for BRT offers a good assistance for BRT operator.
