SUPPORT TOOL TO EVALUATE YEAR TO YEAR PLANT PERFORMANCE WHERE IRRADIANCE DATA IS NOT AVAILABLE

摘要

In this paper we compare the calculated and measured yearly irradiance and power output for a PV plant with the aim of estimating the power production for various azimuth and tilt angles in Bolzano. This will serve as a reference data base for local plant owners to evaluate the state of their PV plant where irradiance sensors are not available. PV plant losses and failure are not always easy to detect as the power output depends on the amount of irradiance. The final output is a table of expected year to year losses due to environmental influence. With this tool the plant owners can check if the production of their plant is in line with the expected energy output, which without a monitoring system in place is only accessible in aggregated values. Thus we provide a local tool to monitor performance of a plant without a radiation measurement system in place. This will be accurate only for the exact position, the data was compared to 7 plants in South Tyrol to verify the accuracy of the data. To develop this system, we are using data from the PV-test site at the airport Bolzano Dolomiti (ABD). In a second step simulated yearly radiation data will be used to provide a data base for more than one position, and hence be useful for more plant owners in the region.
