摘要

This article describes how the use of solar energy as a renewable source, and combined heat and power (CHP) as a highly efficient technique for using conventional fuels, complement one another in the energy supply system of existing buildings. Specifically, the following entities are discussed: Definition of a case study based on the student-canteen-building in Clausthal-Zellerfeld, Germany is given and the realistic consumer load profiles are determined. A simulation model which comprises of controllable and non-controllable loads and generators is developed in Matlab-Simulink. Also, several simulation runs have been implemented in order to optimize the model structure. Resulting energy flows, sensitivity analysis with respect to different designs of the components as well as the assessment of the economic benefits are presented as the final results of the paper.
