The combination of Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) with Multi-Carrier Code Division Multiplexing Access (MC-CDMA) is a promising technique for high performance with very high data rates in 4G broadband wireless communications. However, the nonlinearity of the High Power Amplifier (HPA) plays a crucial role in the performance of MIMO MC-CDMA system. In this paper, we study the performance of different spreading codes in VBLAST MIMO MC-CDMA system in the presence of nonlinear HPA using MMSE receiver, which has shown best performance comparing other receivers |1|. To illustrate this fact, various codes, such as Walsh Hadamard, Cold and Kasami, are examined and compared. Specifically, we presented the impact of HPA nonlinearity on the Bit Error Rate (BER), when the system is operated on Rayleigh fading channel. The numerical results are provided to show the effects of several, system parameters, such as spreading sequence, number of transmitted and received antennas, IBO, number of users and length of spreading factor on system performance.
