Thinking on the development of digital library in colleges and universities

摘要

Though traditional library is an important place to permanently preserve cultural legacy of human beings, it is far from satisfying people's pursuit of information knowledge because of its limitations and backwardness. Greater efforts should be made for the construction of digital libraries. The paper describes the concept and development status of digital library, analyzes the necessity of building digital library in colleges and universities, and put forward four suggestions for developing digital library in colleges and universities: To improve the construction of electronic resources, to strengthen cooperation among colleges and universities, to highlight special characteristics of each university, and to attach importance to high-level human resources.
