@@ Introduction Biological volatilization of selenium (Se) plays an important role in the biogeochemical cycling of Se, in respect to its toxicity, remediation, deficiency, or bio fortification.On a global scale, biogenic volatile Se emission from the ocean to ihe atmosphere is on the order of 5-8 ?106 kg per year, while approximately 1.2 ?106 kg per year emits from the terrestrial ecosystems (Fran ken berger and Karlson, 1994), The dispersion of airborne Se in the mixing boundary layer and its subsequent atmospheric transport are highly controlled by local air stability and regional air mass movement pattern.
