With the rapid development of the China railway construction,more and more steel pipe trusses were used in no-platform-column canopies. This paper analyzed the characteristics and application of steel pipe truss,and studied column span of two typical noplatform-column canopies. The optimizing column span was presented though contrastive analyzing economics and rationality of different column-span canopies when structure type,canopy span and load pressure were determined. The results show 15m and 18m are the better column span of steel pipe truss for two platforms and two lines. And the three-span model with 18m column span is the best for three platforms and five lines which is more economic. It has guiding significance for the design of the actual project.
