PVC nano-CaCO_3 composites have been successfully produced in the laboratory using two-roll mills or using sophisticated surface treatment method. The methods, however, are not acceptable for commercial PVC processing. Thus, another approach needs to be developed to commercially produce PVC nanocomposites. This study focusses on the effect of the addition of titanate coupling agents on the mechanical properties of PVC nano-CaCO_3 composites. The titanate is introduced into the PVC nanocomposite through an in-situ coupling technique, which is easily adapted to existing PVC manufacturing processes with minor modifications. The composites' morphology and the mechanical properties are also examined in this study.
