HEAVY METAL ISSUES - IN AND OUT OF GLASS

The chemistry of industrial glasses is made from multiple oxide components, obtained from a variety of natural minerals which have been beneficiated to consistent physical properties and chemistries. This paper is intended to review certain so-called "Heavy Metals", which are often incorporated into glass; and why glass producers need to understand variables within their manufacturing practices which may relate to a variety of environmental regulations.
