The article presents examples of protection of the light fighting vehicles (LFV) armored with additional reactive armors. The way of protecting of the LFVs with the use of composite-reactive armors against penetration with the HEAT projectiles (with penetration ability of 300 mm RHA) and against the small caliber (up to 14.5 mm) armor-piercing (AP) bullets are shown on the example of the BWP-1. Technical parameters of CERAWA-l armor and its assembly on the BWP-1 are presented. The work also describes results of static tests of several variants of reactive-passive panels of the LFVs against the PG-7 projectiles perforation at the angle of 60° and 72° from normal to the cassette surface. Depending on the surface mass of the light reactive-passive armor panels, different levels of damage to the armor witness plate were achieved.
