One Green Field Megaton Grade Large Alumina Refinery with Successful Engineering Operation Experience

The Phase I alumina project (1.6million tons/ametallurgical grade alumina) of the Guangxi Huayin AluminumCorporation Limited is a greenfield construction project withto-date, the largest disposable investment in the Chinesealumina industry. The project is based on a diasporic bauxitewhich is difficult to grind and dissolve, with a high aluminum &low silicon content. Two years of operational experience showsthat the comprehensive energy consumption per ton aluminaproduction is only 10.51GJ/t. This article introduces the processscheme & technical measures adopted in the engineering andoperational stages of this project.
