ELECTERA - A step towards the development of a techno economic risk analysis scheme for future electric aircraft

The ELECTERA framework is suggested in response to calls for preliminary aircraft design propulsion considerations and novel propulsion technologies aimed for future electric aircraft. ELECTERA's multilateral perspective identifies descriptors for different design approaches during initial design stages and enables contemplative decision making choices. In this paper one representative application of the ELECTERA scheme associated with a turboelectric multi-fan distributed propulsion arrangement is investigated. Following the propulsion weight matrix approach and aircraft performance analyses, economic and risk assessment analyses can be initiated.
