Two new capabilities have been developing for mitigating space weather effects. The NAIRAS project has made significant progress for radiation dose and dose rate real-time estimates for aviation air-crew members and passengers. The USGS real-time Dst provides an estimate of the magnetosphere ring current and is used by the JB2008 thermospheric density model as a high latitude energy input. Both of these activities now have operational real-time space weather prototypes that we demonstrate. Their ability to mitigate space weather effects upon operational systems is discussed.
