Design and construction of this sharply skewed bridge on a horizontally curved alignment with multiple compound curves, variable superelevation, staged construction, night time steel erection of 910,000 lbs and final cross-frame fit-up for a Total Dead Load Fit (TDLF), and concrete finishing problems are discussed. The extreme skew, large girder layovers due to large differential cambers, and staged construction were complicated by the existing non-parallel substructures, and having to maintain the existing geometric features and clearances.
