The New Champ Clark Bridge: Using Design-Build to Span the Mississippi River

The nearly 2300-foot long Champ Clark bridge replacement at Louisiana, MO, opened to traffic in 2019 with steel plate girder spans of up to 420 feet and full-width precast concrete deck panels. This presentation focuses on the project's unique technical challenges and their solutions, as well as the ingredients that led to a successful design-build experience for all parties.
