The term flexicurity started to be used at the middle of the last decade of the last century in order to represent a unitary approach to flexibility and labour security. In December 2007, The European Council adopted the Common Principles of Labour Flexicurity after, in November 2006, the European Commission published "the Green Paper" regarding the modernisation of the labour legislation in order to cope with the challenges of the 21st century. The present study presents the main obstacles which must be overcome in order to implement the labour flexicurity principles in the Romanian business environment, as well as the case study regarding the manner in which the SC EUROTYRE Drobeta Turnu Severin employees appreciate the labour flexicurity.
