For the specimen with longitudinal attachment widely used in many parts of hull structures, an experimental investigation of fatigue crack initiation and propagation under storm loading is performed. Storm loading is generated based on the IACS34 wave scatter data with a storm model proposed by Tomita (1992; 1995). In the analysis, four categorized fatigue experiments are performed. 1.Stepl: uniform loading fatigue test 2.Step2: single storm loading with different stress amplitude 3.Step3: single storm loading with different mean stress 4.Step4: random storm loading. Experimental results are compared and evaluated with DNV simplified fatigue calculation (DNV CN 2005) and Matsuoka's proposed method (1995; 1999; 2000) for crack initiation and propagation.
