With the more and more widely use of laser in obtaining 3D information, how to organize and display the massive laser point cloud data becomes a big problem that needs to be solved immediately. In that case, we introduce an improved pyramid model to deal with data based on dispersion of laser point cloud data, combined with quadtree index on the laser point cloud data organization and management. Through that, it can be quickly displayed at the same time to overcome the increase in the amount of data issues. The experiment results show that this approach can achieve good performance for real-time rendering of massive laser data.
