The present study investigates the flow through the converging zone of headbox and the outflow at the lip of headbox-based Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD). This use of the RNG k-ε turbulence model produced a simplified model of the flow. With the assumption of uniform grid spacing and 2-dimensional flow, a commercial computer code (Fluent) was used to study jet angle at different contraction ratio and L/b. The exponential relation between the jet angle and the L/b was obtained from the numerical results of the present study. According to the jet angle’s sensitivity to the value of L/b, the value of L/b can be divided into three zones (high sensitive, medium sensitive and low sensitive).
