On the basis of analysis in basic principles of LaCoste-Romberg gravimeter, this paper proposes the modification program for gravity observation station based on acquiring the differential output voltage from capacitance bridge. Through hardware and software design, LCR-D gravimeter real-time observation data, graphic display, automatic storage and other functions are achieved. A high precision and sampling rate of digitized gravity data acquisition system is built using LabVIEW software development platform. Compared static observational data with CG-5 gravimeter shows that the system has high observational accuracy; the aftershocks of 5.12 Wenchuan earthquake were monitored by this system in Wuhan city, and the system clearly detected all the earthquake over 5 intensity and some minor aftershocks signal during the observation period. It is proved that this system effectively extends the applications of LCR-D gravimeter.
