摘要

The paper presents an approach of improving the early method of artificial circulation calculation. The artificial circulation is induced by a guide vane installed at the bottom of an open channel. Some modifications were made by introducing a parameter to simplify the calculation and taking into account the depth variation in longitudinal velocity distribution. The calculated results from the presented method were compared with that obtained from flume experiments with detailed 3D velocity measurement. The good agreement between the calculated and measured value indicates adaptability of the method.
