8 beam-flange reinforced connections are test at 1/2 scale to study hysteretic behavior of specimens. 8 specimens in clude 4 connections; 2 flange-plate reinforced connection,2 cover-plate reinforced connection,2 widen-flange connec tion and 2 side-plate reinforced connection. Failure patterns,capacity of energy dissipation,hysteretic behavior, skel eton curves and stiffness degradation are comparative studied. Results show: Connection type has a great effect on ductility and hysteretic behavior; compared with side-plate connection, hysteretic curves of other three connections were more full and energy dissipation of side-plate connection was inferior to the other three. Hysteretic behavior and energy dissipation capacity for rectangular plate-reinforced connection was superior to the trapezoidal plate rein forced connection; the smaller size of enlarged flange, the better of hysteretic performance and energy dissipation ca pacity with the relocation of plastic hinge. Flange-plate reinforced connection was the better one connection of above and was recommended to use in meizoseismal area because of easy making, low cost and good energy dissipation ca pacity.
