Installation of ETFE Cushion Membrane Structure

摘要

Membrane structure is a structural system composed of membrane material,as the tensioning entity,and the sup port components or cables. It has become one of the main forms of large-span space structure,due to its unique ar chitectural style,good structural characteristics. As the membrane structure is a surface tension structure with flex ible materials as the main tension components, construction and installation plays a key role for the proper imple mentation of the design. In membrane structures two kinds of membrane materials, ETFE and PTFE,are applied more widely in engineering. The ETFE membrane structures are used in several places in Resort World at Universal Studios Singapore,in which ETFE21 is representative due to its novel structure,complicated installation techniques. In this paper take ETFE21 for example,describe membrane structure installation process.
