Research on Key Technology of A High-performance License Plate Recognition Method

摘要

In order to optimize the recognition speed of single character in the license plate (LP), this paper propose a vehicle plate recognition method based on characteristic information and template matching. First, the required segmented character can be generated to a standard character by adjusting the size. And then the segmented character information should be extracted and match the template's characteristic information for rough classifying. Finally it will be precisely matched with the selected character library. Experimental results show that the recognition method can improve the rate and speed of recognition and satisfied the character recognition in practical.
