1. Measures: a. Blood oxygen saturation: SpO_2 at finger (PROPAQ? CS Model 242), forehead (Masimo RAD-87), and ear (Nonin Helmet Mounted Pulse Oximeter (HMPO)); regional cerebral tissue oxygenation (rSO_2: Nonin Equanox 7600) b. Respiratory: Total mask pressure (mmHg); mask concentrations of N_2, O_2, and CO_2 (%); derived partial pressures for inhaled O_2, exhaled O_2, and exhaled CO_2 (mmHg); respiration rate, regulator outflow (liters/min), and regulator out pressure (mmHg) c. Other: Pulse rate (PR), ambient chamber pressure (mmHg); psychomotor performance; rating of perceived hypoxia symptoms 2. Compute change relative to pre-trial baseline 3. Termination Criteria: SpO_2<60%; non-responsiveness on task (10s).
