This article presents two methods of utilizing the spectrum efficiently. One strategy which is called spectrum pooling where the public access is enabled to these bands without giving significant interference to the actual license owners. The other method is Transform Domain Communication System (TDCS) as a candidate technique for CR. In order not to interfere with the occupied spectrum TDCS can shape of the waveform of the transmitted signal dynamically over a spectral region. Performance comparison of TDCS and OFDM based cognitive radio for MIMO systemusing VBLAST receiver architecture to reconstruct thetransmitted data. The results show the most promising interferenceavoidance technique combined with MIMO V-BLASTarchitecture to be applied in the CR system.
