Empirical Study on the Relativity between Economy Growth and Coal Industry in Shanxi Province

摘要

Although being a great province abundant in natural resources, Shanxi's economy has been in an unfavorable position for a long time, which is not in parallel with its resources endowment. Based on the statistical figure of Shanxi province during 1978-2004, this paper has made an empirical research on the relativity between the Economy Increase and the output, the consumption and the price of coal in Shanxi province. With this research, a conclusion is drawn that it's not the output of coal, but the consumption that has relativity with Shanxi's economy increase, which can also explain the phenomenon of"Resource Curse" in Shanxi Province. Only the sustainable concept on development be the way out for Shanxi's Coal Economy development, that is to improve recycling economy under the precondition of scientific coal price mechanism.
