In order to solve the problem of the low removal efficiency of mine dust collector for dust nowadays, especially for respirable dust, a new dry type of mine dust collector was designed in this paper with the characteristics of compactness, light weight, simple structure, moving easily and higher removal efficiency. The air volume of the designed mine dust collector is 4O12m3/h, the equipment volume is only 1.6m3 and the weight is only 400kg, lower than the bag filter and wet type dust collector in mine. The experimental results show that the removal efficiency to 99.9% for respirable dust and the removal efficiency to 99.99% for total dust can be obtained to collect pulverized coal (d50=2.139μm). At those conditions, the resistance of designed mine dust collector is lower than 700Pa. The numerical simulation results show that the rectangle structure of dust hopper instead of taper structure can benefit the total uniform flow distribution, helpfully to the application in mine. The flow field distribution of the designed dust collector is more uniform. The baffle location on the 660cm below the inlet mouth in vertical direction is more beneficial to uniform flow field distribution, not forming the secondary secondary blowing dust.
