Glycidyl Azide Polymers (GAP) are promising candidates as energetic binders for rocket propellant applications. Due to their highly exothermic decomposition, high burning rates are usually observed during the combustion of GAP. The present work reports the synthesis of GAP-Triol from PECH-Triol by the azidation under microwave irradiation. The complete conversion of CH_2-Cl to CH_2-N_3 occurs in very short time .The synthesized glycidylazide-triol polymers (GAP-TRIOL) and their precursors of polyepichlorohydrin-triol polymer were characterized by various spectroscopic methods. The thermal behaviors of GAP-TRIOL were estimated by thermogravimetric analysis and differential scanning calorimetric.
