Synthesis and Characterization of Derivatives of Triazole

Environmentally friendly propellant materials are important due to pollution issue all over the world. Derivatives of triazole with higher nitrogen atoms and lower carbon atoms will generate less amount of environmental pollutant compared with traditional materials. They could be applied as a possible energetic plasticizer in propellants since they are liquid. Derivatives of triazole were synthesized from alkylation agent and 4,5-bis(azidomethyl)-1H-1,2,3-triazole (DATR) obtained by reaction of 1,4-dichloro-2-butyne (DCB), sodium azide and ammonium chloride. Mixed derivatives of triazole have been separated through column chromatography. Also, these materials were characterized by using IR and NMR spectroscopy, as well as density, thermal, impact and friction stability measurements. In addition, the heats of formation (ΔH_f), and detonation pressures (P) and velocities (D) were calculated based on DFT methods and other tools.
