EXPERIMENTAL AND NUMERICAL STUDIES ON THE FORMATION MECHANISM OF SHAPED CHARGE WITH DOUBLE LAYER LINERS INTO TANDEM EXPLOSIVELY FORMED PROJECTILES
Experimental and numerical studies on the formation mechanism of Shaped Charge with Double Layer Liners (SCDLL) into tandem EFP were presented. Four test samples with the charge diameter of 60mm were designed. Copper, soft steel and aluminium alloy were selected as liner material. The samples were experimentally tested to get X-ray images. Numerical simulations were then performed for test samples in AUTODYN 2D. Based on experimental and numerical investigations, theory analysis was made to find the key factors which influence the formation process of SCDLL. It is found that SCDLL can always be separated into two projectiles with certain configuration and liner materials. The liner material and the ignition position have great influence on the formation of tandem EFP.
