Lightpath establishment in distributed GMPLS-controlled dynamic transparent optical networks using quality of transmission estimation

The paper proposes to utilize a novel estimation framework in cooperation with monitoring of probe traffic before establishing a lightpath. The scheme strongly decreases the number of lightpath establishment attempts before success.
