Small aircraft as mean of personal transportation

The use of small aircrafts is still limited to the general public. This way of transportation iswithin the scope of general aviation that includes activities such as personal air transport,business aviation, or air-taxis. All of them are related to the concept of having transport moreflexible and comfortable, representing in Europe 9 % of movement of aircraft in 2006.Demand for this kind of service is expected to grow over the coming years, according to airtraffic trends and aircraft orders.The personal air vehicles as emerging market is currently restricted to certain layers of societybut it is expected that would constitute the next breakthrough, as it was the change of thehorse for the car. Moreover, airtaxis and business aviation are become an alternative to othermodes of transport for a public that estimate the time more that the possible cost of theseservices.The object of this article is to present the results of a research in course that is focused onpossible use of small aircraft, analyzing the tendency in the Spanish society as an alternativeof other transports modes.
