With safe drive support systems that employ road-to-vehicle communication and inter-vehiclecommunication, information is provided in order to call the drivers' attention and avoid the inattentionof drivers or the delay in their responses. In order to forecast towhat extent such assistances for safedrive are effective in various traffic environments, it is necessary to simulate the provision ofinformation by communication, driver's response and fluctuation of traffic flowat the same time. Thedevelopment of simulators that can performthese operations in an integratedmanner is expected.The JapanAutomobileResearch Institute (JARI) has built a prototype simulator that can simulate on acomputer traffic flow, communication network performance, radio propagation, and driver behavior inan integratedway. This report describes the configuration, functions, and performance of theprototype of an integrated simulator built by JARI.
