In this paper, we propose the synchronous bacterial foraging optimization (SBFO) approach to optimize proportional, integral, and derivative (PID) parameters for estimating the performance of a fuzzy PID controller. In order to reduce or remove the steady state error of conventional controller, so we employ the fuzzy interference structure to adjust the PID controller gains and SBFO algorithm. From the simulated results show that the proposed approach has better performance compared with genetic algorithm (GA) and BFO approaches.
