A novel regulating power factor (PA) control strategy for a three-phase pulsewidth modulation (PWM) voltage-type converter based on phase and amplitude control (PAC) is present. With fixed PA angle triangle relation of phasors and principle of conversation of energy, a phasor adjusting method and the relevant low-frequency math model of the system are analyzed in details. Experimental results from a 1.5kw device show its sinusoidal current waves and its convenience for implementation.
