With the sample made up of distilled water, the effect of soluble reactive phosphorus removal by Fe-Mn bimetal oxide (FMO) was investigated in laboratory scale in this article. Furthermore, the surface chemistry of FMO was studied, and its phosphorus removal mechanism was analyzed as well. The results showed that under the experimental condition, FMO had good effect of soluble reactive phosphorus removal at each dosage. Especially when the dosage was 10 milligrame per liter (mg/L), the rate of the soluble reactive phosphorus removal of the filtration water was quite high, up to nearly 100%. Mainly made up of delta manganese dioxide (delta -MnO2) and ferric hydroxide [Fe(OH)3], FMO as a kind of compound combining the advantages of delta -MnO2 and ferric coagulant well, was characterized by small particle size , large BET(Brunauer, Emmett, Teller) surface area[146.221 square per gram(m2/g)] and abundant macroporous. Therefore, FMO had good effect on soluble reactive phosphorus removal.
